About The Position

A Medical Assistant is responsible for providing clinical and administrative support to ensure the efficient operation of the medical office or hospital. This position will support physicians, providers, nurses and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, documentation, and communication with a focus on patient experience, quality, and efficiency. The Medical Assistant will support the patient care treatment process by assisting the physicians, nurse practitioners and other clinical staff in the appropriate delivery of patient care services. The Medical Assistant may be expected to perform multiple advanced clinical support tasks without supervision.

Requirements

• High school graduate and successful completion of a Medical Assistant Training Program.
• Medical Assistant certification is required with the approved certifications (i.e. CMA, NRCMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA).
• 1 year of relevant experience required.

Nice To Haves

• 2-4 years of relevant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collect and prepare laboratory specimens.
• Dispose of contaminated supplies.
• Sterilize medical instruments.
• Arrange examining-room instruments and equipment.
• Maintain supplies and equipment.
• Keep waiting and examining rooms neat and clean.
• Verify patient information by interviewing patient.
• Record medical history.
• Confirm purpose of visit.
• Prepare patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests.
• Take patient's blood pressure, weight, and temperature.
• Report patient history summary.
