About The Position

Southwoods Health is hiring a Medical Assistant / Clinical Assistant for a Primary Care Office in Niles, Ohio. This role provides critical clinical support, coordinates patient care, and manages administrative workflows to ensure an exceptional patient experience. We welcome candidates with diverse healthcare backgrounds and provide the training needed to transition into this role.

Requirements

• 1+ years of experience directly related to hands-on patient care.
• Exceptional customer service, strong multitasking capabilities, and proficiency utilizing medical record databases.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience as an STNA, CNA, Phlebotomist, or Pharmacy Technician is highly desirable.
• Formal Medical Assistant schooling is a plus, but not required if equivalent clinical experience is met.

Responsibilities

• Room patients, measure vital signs, record medications/allergies, and collect or process laboratory specimens.
• Schedule procedures and surgeries, coordinate with surgical vendors, and manage physician block times.
• Manage electronic medical records (EMR), secure insurance authorizations, and resolve patient eligibility issues.
• Maintain strict patient confidentiality and adhere to all OSHA and Joint Commission (TJC) standards.
