The Medical Assistant receives patients at the time of visit and supports the physicians and other clinical staff in the delivery of health care to patients by performing a variety of medically-related tasks to ensure smooth patient flow.
Requirements
- Graduate from a medical assistant program
- 1 year experience providing medical assistance in a physician office, nursing facility or hospital
- Cert Clin Medical Assistant Required or Certified Medical Assistant Required or Registered Medical Assistant Required
Responsibilities
- Perform reception duties
- Provide administrative and clerical support
- Assist with patient procedures
- Greet and register patients
- Complete forms
- Collect and enter patient demographic and billing information
- Prepare charts
- Review fee slips
- Maintain office filing system
- Update electronic medical records as appropriate
- Collect payments in accordance with cash handling policies and procedures
