About The Position

Join the Urgent Care team as a part-time Washington State credentialed Medical Assistant-Certified! In this role, you will be responsible for rooming patients, taking manual vitals, operating an automated BP machine, and collecting data to report in the EMR. You will also manage the MA in-basket, handle prescription requests, and perform various clinical skills such as ear lavage, EKG, sterile set-up, injections, immunizations, point-of-care testing, swabbing, and phlebotomy. Additionally, you will receive and make phone calls to other departments, patients, and peers, utilizing critical thinking skills to find resources and follow protocols and policies. The role requires the ability to work independently and as a team member, wear a mask all day and an N95 when protocol directs, and possess strong time management and delegation skills to prioritize workflow. Vancouver Clinic provides care across a wide range of medical decisions, including vaccinations, reproductive health, end-of-life decision-making, and gender-affirming treatment. The ability to work with a diverse patient population is an essential function of all positions.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program required
Certification from national certifying entity (AAMA, NCCT, AMT, NHA, etc.) required
Current Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified credential required, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire required
Current healthcare provider BLS required
Ability to work, with or without reasonable accommodation, with a diverse population of patients and colleagues seeking or considering care in all areas

Offers are contingent on successful completion of background screen and immunization requirements

Nice To Haves

Float Schedule (20 hours/week): Variable hours, days, and locations with start times as early as 6:30a and end times as late as 11:30p -- schedule posted 30 days in advance
