About The Position

UW Medicine Primary Care at Kirkland has an outstanding opportunity for a Medical Assistant - Certified (MA-C). This is a part-time position, working 32 hours per week. The clinic is conveniently located on the corner of Kirkland Way and 6th St., just three blocks from the Kirkland Transit Center, offering personalized care for every stage of life. We provide accessible care that respects patient backgrounds and preferences, covering routine checkups, chronic condition management, and treatment for illnesses or injuries. Requirements

Completion of a Medical Assistant course accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) or other recognized regional or national accreditation board OR equivalent
Must be Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified or achieve this designation within 6-months of hire. Failure to achieve and/or maintain this designation will result in termination of employment
Valid American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider CPR card

Responsibilities

Room patients, take vital signs, and reconcile records
Perform injections
Prepare and clean exam rooms
Submit medication prior authorizations
Recognize symptoms of common medical illnesses and accurately report to provider
Act as a liaison between patient, patient’s family and providers
Assist provider with procedures and medical exams
Perform point of care testing and report abnormal laboratory values
Assist in transporting patients as required
