Under general supervision of the department manager, medical staff, nursing staff, and Sr Medical Assistant/Lead Medical Assistant, the Certified Medical Assistant follows policies, procedures, and professional guidelines. The Certified Medical Assistant provides clinical and clerical support such as patient rooming in addition to assistance with medical procedures, cleaning of equipment, chart preparation, obtaining referral notes, images and lab results prior to patient visits. Responsible for pre-visit preparation and schedule appointments. Ability to efficiently verify insurance eligibility and identify services that require an insurance authorization. Perform clerical duties, including chart preparation and ensuring accurate and up-to-date patient records. Utilize electronic health record systems proficiently for accurate documentation and retrieval of patient information, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations and organizational policies. Provide clinical support as needed, including but not limited to wound care, specimen collection, and administering medications under the direction of healthcare providers. Escort patients to examination rooms, obtain vital signs, and prepare patients for their appointments in accordance with established protocols.
