Requirements

Completion of and certification from an accredited Medical Assistant or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program.
Current CPR certification, or the ability to obtain certification within four months of hire.
Working knowledge of medical terminology and basic clinical procedures.
Proficiency with computer systems and electronic medical records (EMR), along with strong telephone, verbal, and written communication skills.
Excellent customer service skills with strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
Self-motivated, dependable team player with a positive attitude and professional demeanor.
Ability to multitask efficiently while maintaining accuracy and productivity in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively and compassionately with patients, providers, and coworkers.

Nice To Haves

Previous medical office or clinical experience is preferred but not required.
Bilingual (Spanish-speaking) candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

Facilitate high-quality patient care under the supervision and direction of the provider.
Verify patient information by interviewing patients, documenting medical histories, confirming the reason for the visit, and reconciling medication lists.
Prepare patients for examination by obtaining vital signs, performing preliminary assessments, and conducting basic clinical tests.
Maintain patient confidentiality by accurately completing, securing, and safeguarding medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Assist providers with examinations, office procedures, injections, and other clinical tasks as directed.
Triage incoming patient calls, review messages with providers, and respond promptly and professionally to patient inquiries.
Communicate laboratory results, diagnostic findings, and provider instructions to patients while addressing questions within scope of practice.
Schedule referrals, diagnostic testing, and follow-up appointments; process prescription requests according to provider instructions.
Coordinate with insurance companies, pharmacies, and other healthcare organizations, including obtaining prior authorizations when required.
Collaborate effectively with physicians, advanced practice providers, and staff to achieve departmental and organizational goals.
Maintain current CPR certification and any other required credentials.
Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
