About The Position

Sky Care Immediate Care is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant/Certified Medical Assistant to join their team. This role involves various shifts and requires a blend of patient care, administrative tasks, and adherence to organizational policies. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a positive attitude, capable of working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

Must receive certification (CMA or equivalent from AAMA, AMT, NHA, NCCT) within 15 months of hire.
AHA CPR certification required by the end of the month from 60 days of hire and maintained.
1 year of MA experience.
3 months certification preparation time.
Positive, cheerful attitude.
Self-starter, flexible and caring individual.
Demonstrates accuracy in documentation.
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Must maintain strict confidentiality of patient information.
Able to follow instructions and accept direction.
Must be able to work independently, as well as with medical providers, patients, family members and other co-workers.
Must be able to prioritize work demands and organize time efficiently.
Must be able to work in multi-specialty settings.
Must have the ability to work within time constraints, in high stress situations and with multiple tasks.
Must be able to remain calm under stress.
Excellent problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

Previous patient care experience preferred.
Demonstrates competence in relation to the defined mission, vision, values and strategic plan of the organization.
Ongoing completion of proficiency testing, skill demonstration, practice of core standards for service excellence, and documentation review.

Responsibilities

Perform the rooming process in a timely manner, preparing patients for the provider visit.
Set up and clean exam rooms for provider visits and procedures.
Anticipate provider and patient needs during visits and assist as needed.
Accurately obtain symptoms and health history from patients, families, or caregivers.
Perform point-of-care testing and demonstrate competency under provider direction.
Accurately administer medications, injections, and immunizations under provider direction.
Assist providers with in-office procedures.
Coordinate daily care for ED and hospital discharge patients under provider direction.
Perform accurate, timely, and complete documentation of all patient care, education, and communication.
Demonstrate compliance with HIPAA, patient safety standards, Sky Lakes policies, and procedures.
Process and respond to results, reports, and requests (e.g., Epic In-Basket, fax, mail) in an accurate and timely manner.
Restock, and maintain examination rooms, medical supplies, medications, and vaccines, including performing monthly outdate checks and maintaining PAR levels.
Schedule patient appointments, procedures, examinations, and referrals as directed.
Assist patients by phone under provider supervision, including telephone counseling when appropriate.
Provide a warm, caring, and supportive environment for patients, families, and staff.
Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in response to patient, provider, and coworker needs.
Train and orient new clinical staff to the department.
Maintain competency in all assigned responsibilities.
Performs other duties as assigned.
