About The Position

This position is an essential part of our patient care team, providing consistent and dedicated care to our patients as a long-term teammate. The role involves facilitating good patient care under the supervision of a physician, preparing patients for examination and treatment, preparing exam rooms with necessary equipment and supplies, assisting with the scheduling of tests and treatments, and maintaining patient records and other information. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, the ability to work in a stressful environment, and function effectively as a team player.

Requirements

Completion of and certification from an accredited Medical Assistant program/school.
Or experienced Certified Nurse Assistant with clinical skills equivalent to those described above.
Current CPR certification or obtain within 4 months of hire.
Working Knowledge of medical terminology.
Ability to bend, reach, lift, pull, push, and/or carry up to 10 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally is required.
Ability to stand and sit for prolonged periods of time is required.

Nice To Haves

Spanish-speaking is a plus.

Responsibilities

Provides courteous and friendly service to all patients and contributes to a positive team-based work environment.
Facilitates good patient care under the supervision of a physician.
Prepares patients for examination and treatment.
Prepare exam room with necessary equipment and supplies.
Assists with the scheduling of tests and treatments.
Maintains patient records and other information.
Accurate vital signs (Blood pressure, Radial pulse, Temperature, Height, Weight).
Infection Control: PPE, Handwashing, Sharps containers, Biohazard disposal.
Equipment Use and Maintenance (Ophthalmoscope/Otoscope, O2 saturation monitor, Thermometer).
Electronic medical record access patient's chart, physician schedule, tasking Rx refills/authorizations, lab results, record vital signs, medications, imaging results.
Phlebotomy as needed.
