About The Position

This role is for a Medical Assistant, Certified (CMA) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in a Part Time capacity, working 12-hour shifts with rotating weekends required at Kootenai Urgent Care. The team staffs three locations: Coeur d'Alene, Hayden, and Post Falls. Scheduled shifts will be at all three locations, with the location varying based on team needs. The maximum distance between locations is 9 miles. Kootenai Urgent Care provides high-quality, comprehensive medical care for non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries without an appointment, seven days a week. In-office X-rays are offered when necessary. In this role, you will be responsible for taking vitals, administering injections, performing basic triage, and assisting in minor procedures. A solid understanding of medical terminology, computers, and phones is expected. You will provide excellent customer service and possess good written/verbal communication skills. Ideal candidates will be knowledgeable of routine office procedures and medical instruments, and will screen phone calls from patients for the provider. This position will adhere to all policies, procedures, and regulations to ensure patient safety and compliance.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Completion of accredited Medical Assistant program
  • Current CMA certification by AAMA, NHA or NCCT required
  • BLS Required. Current AHA Healthcare provider, American Red Cross, AHA Health Saver or KH BLS within 60 days of hire
  • Vocational/technical training program in Nursing
  • State of Idaho Licensed Practice Nurse
  • BLS Required. Current AHA Healthcare provider, American Red Cross, AHA Health Saver or KH BLS during general orientation.
  • Solid understanding of medical terminology, computers, and phones.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Good written/verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledgeable of routine office procedures and medical instruments.
