About The Position

The Medical Assistant position at Baptist Health Medical Group Cardiology in the St. Matthews area is a full-time, first-shift role, eligible for a $2000 sign-on bonus for new hires meeting specific criteria. This role involves providing direct patient care and clinical support within an outpatient clinic, requiring regular on-site presence. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education Equivalency
  • 1+ year(s) of experience as a Medical Assistant in a medical office, clinic or similar setting, including direct, hands-on patient care (obtaining vital signs, documenting patient history and medications, and performing clinical procedures such as EKG’s, phlebotomy, administering injections or vaccines)
  • OR Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant training program that includes hands-on patient experience as part of the curriculum
  • Successfully complete MA orientation and clinical competency assessment upon hire
  • Basic computer skills
  • Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association within 90 days of hire
  • BAT and DOT certifications required for Medical Assistants in Occupational Medicine within 90 days of hire

Nice To Haves

  • Current Medical Assistant Certification from AAMA, AMT, NAHP, NCCT, or AAMP
  • OR graduate of an accredited LPN or RN program with current unrestricted licensure
  • Experience with EMR System

Responsibilities

  • Perform phlebotomy (upon successful completion of clinical competency)
