Requirements

High School Diploma or GED with some medical knowledge.
Must maintain BLS/CPR certification.
Ability to work independently and multitask.
Strong communication skills to interact effectively with parents, students, teachers, and team members from diverse backgrounds.
Proficiency with electronic medical record software.
Capability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize tasks.

Nice To Haves

Completion of a Medical Assisting program at an accredited school is desirable, with certification preferred.
Bilingual proficiency is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Create and maintain accurate patient accounts and records within medical software systems.
Verify and update patient demographic and insurance information to ensure accuracy.
Photocopy identification and insurance cards as needed.
Review provider schedules and screen patient information for completeness.
Assist with patient intake, including registration, triage, and vital signs.
Educate patients and families about healthcare processes and resources available to them.
Answer incoming calls and route them appropriately to ensure smooth communication.
Provide follow-up assistance, including managing lab results and abnormal findings.
Perform phlebotomy duties and process lab specimens as needed.
Assist the Nurse Practitioner with clinical and administrative tasks to support patient care.
Participate in public health education and outreach activities.
Keep the clinic organized by completing opening and closing procedures and maintaining an orderly lobby.
Support the team in clinic development, performance improvement, and expansion efforts.
Perform additional duties as assigned to ensure the clinic’s success.
