Medical Assistant/Bilingual
About The Position
We are seeking a reliable and patient-focused Bilingual Medical Assistant (Spanish -speaking required) to support our clinical team. This role is essential in ensuring efficient patient flow, accurate clinical documentation, and high-quality patient care, particularly for our Spanish-speaking population. These duties are to be performed in a highly confidential manner, in accordance with the mission, values and behaviors of Insight Hospital and Medical Center. Employees are further expected to provide a high quality of care, service, and kindness toward all patients, staff, physicians, volunteers and guests.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Fluent in Spanish and English (required)
- Strong EMR proficiency and computer skills
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
Nice To Haves
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred
- Current certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) preferred
- minimum 1-2 years of clinical experience preferred (specialty experience a plus)
Responsibilities
- Room patients, obtain vital signs, and document medical history in the EMR (e.g., Cerner, Epic)
- Assist providers during examinations and procedures
- Serve as a Spanish-English Interpreter for patients during visits
- Coordinate patient care, including referrals, imaging, and follow-ups
- Manage patient communications (phone calls, messages, results)
- Prepare and maintain exam rooms and clinical supplies
- Assist with prior authorizations and insurance verification as needed
- Maintain compliance with HIPPA and clinical protocols
