About The Position

We are hiring a Medical Assistant for our Bariatric Surgery Specialty Practice. This role is ideal for someone who loves helping patients, staying organized, and thrives in a fast-paced, supportive team environment. You will be responsible for coordinating patient flow, preparing patients for visits, escorting them to treatment rooms, obtaining patient information for medical records, and documenting information in patient charts.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum of six (6) months of related work experience required.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of medical assisting normally associated with obtaining an Associate’s Degree in Medical Assistance is preferred.
National Certification as a Medical Assistant a plus.

Responsibilities

Prepares exam and treatment rooms.
Prepares patients for examination and treatment, ensuring they are given appropriate clothing for physical exams or minor surgeries.
Obtains pertinent patient history, including chief complaint, medical and surgical history, allergies, medications, and relevant review of systems.
Documents patient information, including vital signs, in the medical record.
Serves as a scribe between patient and physician in treatment rooms, documenting all relevant information.
Processes and files lab/diagnostic test results, correspondence, and clinical notes after physician review.
Ensures accurate and complete documentation on patient records and notifies providers and other departments of diagnostic testing results.
Coordinates patient flow in the office, collaborating with reception to ensure timely and efficient patient care.
Assists front office personnel with tasks such as answering the telephone, scheduling appointments, and other duties as needed.
