About The Position
Planned Parenthood California Central Coast (PPCCC) is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion. PPCCC is a leading provider of reproductive health care and comprehensive sexuality education services along California's Central Coast, serving approximately 28,000 individuals annually. Services include STI testing and treatment, birth control, cancer screenings, vasectomies, and abortion care. They also offer educational programs for adults and teens. This role is primarily responsible for patient intake for reproductive health services. The Medical Assistant must be proficient with computers, provide excellent customer service with a nurturing and accommodating tone, and assist clients in a patient, non-judgmental, and empathetic manner.
Requirements
- Medical Assistant Certification is required.
- Ability to relate to diverse communities.
- Must be able to travel within PPCCC geographic area (Thousand Oaks to San Luis Obispo).
Nice To Haves
- English-Spanish bilingual skills are desirable.
Responsibilities
- Adhere to Planned Parenthood California Central Coast policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Maintain patient records, checking for completeness, errors, and signatures.
- Work to ensure patient satisfaction by establishing rapport with clients and responding to their needs for medical and educational care in a professional and expedient manner.
- Provide patient education regarding reproductive, abortion, and sterilization services.
