Sante Health System is encouraging all Medical Assistants in the Fresno, CA area to apply to join our team at one of our medical office teams, Elmore Medical Vein and Laser in the Fresno, CA area. In this medical assisting position, you would provide top-notch customer service both in-person and over the phone and assist our physicians with delivering specialty care to our patients. Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED equivalent
  • Graduation from an accredited program for Medical Assistants
  • Certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants
  • Exceptional people and communication skills
  • Highly skilled in multi-tasking in a fast paced environment
  • Commitment to achieving a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • No-task-too-small approach to the work.

Responsibilities

  • Provide top-notch customer service both in-person and over the phone.
  • Assist physicians with delivering specialty care to patients.
  • Welcome patients with a warm smile and exuberant demeanor.
  • Check patients in and verify their insurance and personal information on their records.
  • Manage patient files, records, schedules and other information while maintaining strict confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Ensure that exam and treatment rooms are stocked with the necessary instruments and supplies and necessary items are sterilized.
  • Maintain the inventory to ensure supplies are organized and stocked.
  • Obtain patient vitals and determine the nature of their visit.
  • Provide patient teaching related to pre and post care instructions.
  • Measure each patient for compression stockings as recommended by the provider.
  • Assist physicians by preparing patients for minor surgeries and treatments, as well as applying compression stockings, wound care bandages and dressings.
  • Handle a variety of office duties including screening calls, relaying messages by phone or mail, sending out-going referrals, and answering patient questions about general policies and procedures.
  • Keep supplies and inventory well managed and ordering more supplies as needed.
  • Keep work area and lobby neat and orderly.
