About The Position

This Medical Assistant Apprentice program offers motivated candidates the opportunity to build the skills, confidence, and hands-on experience needed to succeed in a dynamic clinical setting. You will be hired to work in primary care in our Park Rapids Clinic. Essentia Health will pay for your education and certification as a Medical Assistant, putting you through a qualifying program with a partnering organization. This program comes with a 1-year work commitment upon course completion. This cohort-based training program brings participants together as a group to create a strong learning community. You’ll train alongside peers who share your goals, gaining valuable knowledge, real-world experience, and the support needed to grow into a successful Certified Medical Assistant. You can expect a structured training experience guided by experienced healthcare professionals, the opportunity to learn in a cohort beginning July 2026, building teamwork, accountability, and peer support, hands-on training in a supportive clinical environment, exposure to essential medical assistant skills, including patient care, clinical procedures, and administrative responsibilities, ongoing coaching and mentorship throughout the program, and a pathway to a meaningful healthcare career with growth opportunities.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • AHA Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification within 3 months of hire.
  • Will enroll in the Medcerts training program, advancing through learning modules and acquiring the skills to perform the Clinical Assistant position.
  • Upon completion of the apprentice program, CCMA Board Certification is required within 12 months of completing the apprentice education program and meeting the on-the-job hours requirement.
