HealthPoint is offering paid, on-the-job training for those interested in pursuing a certification in Medical Assisting. The apprentice training program providers its learners a structured learning environment that provides tools and skills to become confident and successful members of a healthcare team. This program is for people who love helping others and are ready to take the first step toward a career in healthcare. Being an MA takes flexibility, problem-solving, and determination. HealthPoint is a community-based, community-supported and community-governed network of non-profit health centers dedicated to providing expert, high-quality care to all who need it, regardless of circumstances. The Medical Assistance Apprentice will perform back-office functions including patient preparation, support of health care providers, laboratory procedures and clinic operations in a manner that promotes quality patient care. This role will be an enrollee of the WACHC MA Apprenticeship Program. The performance of delegated clinical duties will be directed, supervised, and inspected by the appropriately credentialed staff. This program requires 2,000 hours of paid on-the-job-training and 410 hours of supplemental, unpaid course work. There will be three in-person laboratory days. This program requires a two-year service commitment with HealthPoint, which begins upon the completion of the Apprenticeship Program.
