About The Position

Are you looking for an opportunity to launch your medical career? Through our Medical Assistant Apprentice program, you will be hired to work in Essentia Health's family practice at our Wahpeton Clinic in Wahpeton, North Dakota. We will pay for your education and certification as a Medical Assistant, putting your through a qualifying program with a partnering organization. This program comes with a 2-year work commitment upon course completion. This cohort-based training program, beginning on June 29th, 2026, brings participants together as a group to create a strong learning community. You’ll train alongside peers who share your goals, gaining valuable knowledge, real-world experience, and the support needed to grow into a successful Certified Medical Assistant. A structured training experience guided by experienced healthcare professionals. The opportunity to learn in a cohort beginning July 2026, building teamwork, accountability, and peer support. Hands-on training in a supportive clinical environment. Exposure to essential medical assistant skills, including patient care, clinical procedures, and administrative responsibilities. Requirements

High School Diploma or Equivalent
Eager to learn and grow in healthcare
Team-oriented and dependable
Excited to train alongside peers in a collaborative setting
Ready to develop the skills needed to support patients and providers
AHA Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification within 3 months of hire.
Will enroll in the In-Clinic Assistant Training Apprenticeship Program (ICATAP).
CCMA Board Certification is required within 12 months of completing the apprentice education program and meeting the on-the-job hours requirement.

Responsibilities

Perform the Clinical Assistant position upon completion of the ICATAP apprentice program.
Acquire skills to perform the Clinical Assistant position through learning modules.
Support patients and providers.
