About The Position

Seeking a Medical Assistant Apprentice, Medical Assistant, or a Licensed Practical Nurse to serve in Essentia Health's OBGYN Clinic. This position will work Monday through Friday no holidays or weekends. The Medical Assistant Apprentice works at an entry-level, assisting RN, Physician and other providers with direct patient care in the ambulatory setting. They will perform identified procedures individually once competencies have been demonstrated and care for patients ranging in age from newborn to elderly. The apprentice is enrolled in a training program for 14 weeks and must obtain NHA Board CCMA Certification within 6 months of completing the program or on the job hours requirement, or be enrolled in the Med Certs training program. LPNs cannot practice in this capacity. Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certified, or able to obtain within 3 months is required. A 1-year commitment to Essentia is required for the apprentice role. The Medical Assistant or LPN will assist the RN, Physician and other providers and provides direct patient care in the ambulatory care setting. They will perform identified procedures for which competencies have been demonstrated and care for patients ranging in age from newborn to elderly. Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse in appropriate state, i.e. Minnesota, Wisconsin, OR current registration or certification as a Medical Assistant OR Verifiable completion of a Medical Assistant Program and must become certified within one year of date of hire (must pass certification within two attempts) is required. Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certified, or able to obtain within 3 months is required.

Requirements

Medical Assistant Apprentice: Enrolled in the Clinic Assistant Training Apprenticeship Program advancing through learning modules for 14 weeks as skills are acquired to perform the Clinical Assistant position.
Medical Assistant Apprentice: Upon completion of the apprentice program, NHA Board CCMA Certification is required within 6 months of completing the apprentice education program and the on the job hours requirement OR Enrolled in the Med Certs training program.
Medical Assistant Apprentice: LPNs cannot practice in this capacity.
Medical Assistant Apprentice: Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certified, or able to obtain within 3 months.
Medical Assistant Apprentice: 1 Year commitment to Essentia required.
