About The Position

Sanford Health, the largest rural health system in the United States, is dedicated to transforming the health care experience and providing access to world-class health care in America’s heartland. This position involves working at both the Mt. Lake and Windom Clinic Labs, performing Phlebotomy and Waived Testing. Responsibilities include phlebotomy, collecting, preparing, and processing biological specimens. The role assists with laboratory activities and assigned tasks, including preparing laboratory specimens and supplies; may enter laboratory orders and results; ensures the accuracy and quality of laboratory data in a safe, professional work environment; and trains and onboards new employees.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant program
  • Nationally certified or registered as a Medical Assistant (MA)
  • Certification (CMA) obtained through a nationally approved certification program for medical assistant, including but not limited to: American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) through the National Healthcareer Association (NHA), Clinical Medical Assistant Certification (CMAC) through the American Medical Certification Association (AMCA), or National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) through the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), etc.
  • Registration (RMA) obtained through the American Medical Technologists (AMT) also acceptable
  • North Dakota (ND) registration as an MAIII through the ND Board of Nursing (if applicable, with 4 months to obtain)
  • Registered on the ND Board of Nursing UAP Registry (if applicable)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within six months of employment

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in a healthcare setting is preferred
