About The Position

Corewell Health is offering a $3,000 sign-on bonus for this opportunity! This Medical Assistant position is in an outpatient specialty department for Allergy & Immunology, located at 3271 Clear Vista Ct. Grand Rapids, MI 49525. This is a primary location where adult and pediatric patients are seen Monday through Friday, 7am – 5pm. The main diagnoses seen in clinic include environmental, food, and drug allergies, along with asthma, chronic hives, and immune deficient problems. The MA would work in tandem with nurses and providers to support patients clinically, assisting with patient rooming, allergy testing, immunotherapy injections, vaccine administration, spirometry, chart prepping, phone calls, patient messages, faxes, medication authorizations, and quality assurance tasks. There is a rare expectation of travel to the Grand Haven location if needed for staffing. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program that includes hands-on, in-person clinical skills training OR a minimum of one (1) year of experience working specifically in the role of a Medical Assistant, LPN, Paramedic or EMT performing direct patient care and clinical support functions consistent with MA scope of practice
  • AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification Required within 90 Days
  • One of the following Required within 120 Days: AAMA Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), AMT Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), NHA Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA), NCCT Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA), NAHP Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA)
