About The Position

This position will be based at the Columbus Health Department under general supervision of the County Nurse Manager. You will support the Department by utilizing your expertise to fulfill the following responsibilities: Assist in the clinic by taking and recording patients’ vital signs, height, and weight Collection of blood and/or other laboratory specimens, maintain daily laboratory log and prepare specimens for shipping to laboratory. Pull patient lab results daily and prepare them for the nurse to review. Prepare the exam room for patients. Will perform front office duties to include, but not limited to, patient intake, verifying insurance, collecting/posting payments, answering phone calls, and scheduling appointments. May serve as a chaperone with the nurses during exams.

Requirements

Associate degree in a related field from an accredited college or university with one (1) year experience in a related field; or
High School diploma/GED and two (2) years of experience in medical assisting; or
Two (2) years of experience required at the lower-level Medical Assistant 1 (HCT100) or position equivalent.
