MEDICAL AFFAIRS EXECUTIVE
About The Position
One of our well-established clients in the healthcare industry is seeking an experienced physician executive to join its leadership team as Medical Vice President. This executive will provide strategic clinical leadership and operational oversight across multiple healthcare programs and service lines. The role is responsible for advancing clinical excellence, driving quality outcomes, supporting evidence-based decision-making, strengthening provider partnerships, and ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory and accreditation standards. The ideal candidate will be a visionary healthcare leader with a strong clinical background, exceptional leadership capabilities, and experience leading multidisciplinary teams in complex healthcare environments.
Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree required.
- Minimum of ten (10) years of progressive leadership experience within healthcare organizations, clinical operations, medical management, or related healthcare environments.
- At least six (6) years of experience leading and developing multidisciplinary teams.
- Demonstrated success leading large-scale clinical initiatives, healthcare operations, and organizational transformation efforts.
- Active Medical License in Puerto Rico required.
- Strong executive leadership and strategic planning capabilities.
- Deep understanding of healthcare delivery models, quality improvement methodologies, and clinical governance.
- Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and lead organizational change.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship management abilities.
- Experience working within highly regulated healthcare environments.
- Ability to balance clinical excellence with operational and financial objectives.
- High degree of professionalism, integrity, and executive presence.
- Spanish: Advanced (written, verbal, and comprehension)

Responsibilities
- Provide executive leadership and strategic direction for clinical programs, medical operations, and healthcare initiatives across the organization.
- Lead the development, implementation, and oversight of clinical policies, care models, and evidence-based practices that promote quality outcomes and operational excellence.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to align clinical strategies with organizational goals, growth initiatives, and long-term business objectives.
- Oversee clinical review processes and healthcare programs to ensure effective, efficient, and patient-centered service delivery.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with physicians, healthcare providers, hospitals, professional associations, and key industry stakeholders.
- Promote quality improvement initiatives, clinical innovation, and performance optimization throughout the organization.
- Monitor healthcare industry trends, emerging clinical practices, and regulatory developments to support informed strategic decision-making.
- Serve as a key advisor to senior leadership on clinical matters, healthcare policy developments, and operational opportunities.
- Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing clinical and operational teams while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Participate in executive committees and governance activities, providing medical expertise and strategic recommendations to support organizational priorities.
- Support accreditation, compliance, risk management, and quality assurance initiatives to maintain the highest standards of clinical excellence.
- Drive initiatives that enhance healthcare outcomes, provider engagement, operational performance, and overall organizational effectiveness.
