Excelsia Injury Care provides management services to a network of healthcare companies, supporting them in delivering comprehensive rehabilitation, diagnostic, surgical, and pain management services for individuals affected by post-traumatic neuro-musculoskeletal injuries. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • 2 -3 years of experience in a medical office or related setting with computer experience desired
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with medical diagnostic procedures, and health care billing and authorization is required
  • Prior experience with insurance verification and scheduling is required
  • Office Experience: general, scheduling, telephone skills, typing, business knowledge, organization, time management, customer service, verbal communication, PC proficiency, reporting skills
  • Knowledge of HIPAA/Confidentiality
  • Must have excellent organizational skills and be detail oriented
  • Medical receptionist: 1 year (required)
  • Computer skills: familiar with Excel, Word, Windows; 1 year (required)

Responsibilities

  • Schedules surgery procedures
  • Answers phones in a professional and courteous manner
  • Completes post-op data entry in a timely and accurate manner
  • Posts surgical charges on a daily basis per established guidelines
  • Completes daily surgical schedule and distributes as appropriate
  • Assures appropriate coordination with hospitals, surgical centers, and internal staff when special surgical needs occur
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Completes departmental filing
  • Sorts and distributes incoming and outgoing mail
  • Orders office supplies
  • Publishes an accurate daily call list
  • Assists in clerical support functions including but not limited to: maintaining departmental records and files, preparing documents and correspondence, organizing inventory of office supplies and forms, and designing forms, graphs, etc.
  • Assists with chart documentation
  • Assists with patient scheduling, registration and insurance verifications and obtaining authorization and/or referral for appointments
  • Other duties as assigned.
