The Medicaid Specialist manages and coordinates a high volume of data including client information. Serves as the primary point of contact for all Medicaid program activities. The role functions in accordance with the system’s Operational Guidelines and within his/her professional code of ethics. It involves serving as the point of contact for Medicaid clients, providing and coordinating follow-up to update clients on their Medicaid status, and obtaining information needed to process their application. The specialist must be sensitive and responsible to client needs, including data collection, development of Medicaid applications, and maintenance of the application process. Participation in all required meetings, self-evaluation, and adherence to Quality Assurance procedures are also key aspects of the role.
