About The Position
The secondary schools media center specialist manages all aspects of the media center and supports instructional technology. The specialist supports staff and student learning, and trains others in research and digital tools. They manage library spaces, schedules, and collections, selecting diverse resources aligned to curriculum needs and school policy. The specialist leads daily operations, fosters a welcoming environment, and promotes responsible digital citizenship.
Requirements
- Current Minnesota teaching license required
- Successful background check required
- Knowledge of educational tools like Google Workspace
- Knowledge of learning platforms (Google Classroom/Schoology)
- Knowledge of interactive displays
- Knowledge of student devices
- Knowledge of FERPA
- Knowledge of digital safety
- Strong organization skills
- Strong collaboration skills
- Strong problem-solving skills
