About The Position

The Media Production Assistant supports the Manager of Media Production and Editing on the Online Learning Experience (OL-LX) team with the video, photo, and general media needs of Westminster Theological Seminary. This is an entry-level, part-time position designed for someone early in their career who is eager to build hands-on production and editing experience and grow within the field. This role is foundational rather than final-facing: recordings, rough cuts, and organized footage produced in this position typically serve as a starting point for further development by the Manager of Media Production and Editing or other editors. The Assistant works under close supervision and direction, with responsibilities growing over time as skill and reliability are demonstrated. This role is intended as a growth track for someone who wants to develop as a media professional, not a fixed-scope gig. After approximately three months of reliably executing core responsibilities with minimal supervision (camera and livestream operation, on-time rough cuts), the Assistant will begin cross-training in basic motion graphics and color adjustment under the Manager's direction. Continued growth in scope, responsibility, and pay will be considered around the six- to nine-month mark based on demonstrated skill and reliability.
