About The Position

Join our high-impact intelligence team as a Media Monitoring & Real-Time Insights Specialist, where you’ll leverage cutting-edge tools to track industry trends, monitor breaking news, and provide actionable insights that empower our clients to stay ahead. Candidates MUST RESIDE in the following states: Alabama, Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, Tennessee, or Texas. Due to the nature of news media taking place 24/7, this position has non-traditional work hours. TruePoint uses an alternative work schedule (AWS) instead of a fixed work schedule. Your schedule can include a mix of daytime, nights, weekends, and holidays during times of crisis. For this role, you must be able to work 1-2 weekday mornings from 5:30 am-7:30 am (CT).

Requirements

  • Expertise in media monitoring tools and a passion for staying informed about the latest trends.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills to distill complex information into clear, impactful reports.
  • A proactive mindset, with the ability to anticipate issues and provide strategic recommendations in real time.
  • Flexibility to manage ad-hoc requests and deliver timely updates on high-priority matters.
  • 1-4 years of experience in media monitoring, social listening, or PR is highly preferred.
  • Command expertise and experience in media monitoring and social listening tools, such as CISION, Meltwater, Critical Mention, NewsWhip and Sprinklr.
  • Possess an analytical mindset and the ability to interpret data and trends to provide actionable insights.
  • Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Be highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to meeting deadlines and delivering time-sensitive alerts and reports. React promptly to emerging news stories and issues.
  • Showcase a high proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Teams, and PowerPoint.
  • Exemplify an ability to think outside the box and take the initiative upon themselves to solve problems as they arise.

  • Strong preference will be given to candidates with agency experience or experience at a monitoring platform.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive executive reports for senior leadership, including summaries of key stories, industry trends, and potential reputational risks or opportunities.
  • Utilize platforms like Cision, Critical Mention, and NewsWhip to track and analyze media channels, staying attuned to industry trends and client-relevant conversations.
  • Identify and alert clients to breaking news, emerging issues, and critical conversations, providing timely, strategic recommendations.
  • Assess tone, sentiment, and engagement around brand-related stories, providing insights on impact and actionable recommendations.
  • Partner with internal account teams to ensure insights align with client objectives and contribute to agency initiatives as needed.
