The Institute for War and Peace Reporting (IWPR) is seeking a Media Monetization Consultant to provide strategic support to independent media outlets operating in restrictive environments across Latin America. The consultancy will focus on strengthening these outlets' capacity to develop sustainable business models, diversify revenue streams, design monetization strategies tailored to their specific contexts, and improve long-term financial sustainability. The consultant will conduct regular advisory sessions with the assigned editorial teams, providing guidance on assessing their existing business models, identifying revenue-generation opportunities, and designing and implementing monetization plans. The consultancy will also support the development of campaigns related to memberships, donations, subscriptions, advertising, crowdfunding, services, partnerships, and other funding mechanisms appropriate for independent media. In addition, the consultant will advise beneficiaries on setting financial objectives, prioritizing initiatives, implementing monitoring tools, and evaluating results to strengthen the sustainability of their operations. All advisory support must respect the editorial independence of the participating media outlets and strictly comply with IWPR’s established security protocols. The consultant must maintain close coordination with IWPR throughout the assignment, demonstrate flexibility to work remotely with teams that may face connectivity limitations or operate under challenging conditions, and strictly adhere to all established security procedures.
