About The Position
Superior Ambulance Service, the largest independent, locally owned, and operated emergency medical services provider in the Midwest, is seeking full-time Medi-Car Drivers. This role involves transporting wheelchair-bound individuals to various healthcare facilities, hospitals, and testing laboratories. The company operates a large fleet and employs thousands of licensed professionals across multiple states.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalency.
- Successfully passed the Company's required lifting test, Map test, and completed the interview process.
- Functional communication and writing in the English language.
- Possess a valid driver's license.
- Satisfactory driving record.
- Ability to safely operate a vehicle in various conditions, including daytime, nighttime, and inclement weather.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate adequate skill in moving a wheelchair up and down stairs, and in and out of the Medi-Car.
- Provide appropriate patient care as stipulated in Medi-Car Driver training.
- Ensure safe transportation by accurately discerning street names, house numbers, and business addresses for the most expedient routes.
- Provide appropriate documentation for billing information.
- Maintain the vehicle in sanitary condition, monitor fluid levels and gauges, and report all mechanical problems immediately.
