Requirements

  • A pattern of initiative and leadership.
  • A basic understanding of milling and mechanical systems.
  • Able to meet biosecurity guidelines. Cannot own or raise any type of pet birds, any variety of wild or domestic poultry or hogs.
  • Able to twist/stoop/bend/squat/lift/carry/reach while handling feed ingredients or equipment

Nice To Haves

  • A bachelor’s degree in operational management, agriculture, or related fields
  • 3-5 years supervisory experience.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish.
  • Field work experience in mill operations

Responsibilities

  • Supervising and coordinating the activities of team members involved in the operations process (grinding, pelleting, and mixing feed ingredients) to ensure efficient and smooth operations.
  • Monitor feed ordering and scheduling systems to ensure the most efficient production and delivery.
  • Ensuring that all feed products meet stringent quality and safety standards by overseeing the entire production process, from raw material intake to final product delivery.
  • Maintaining compliance with industry regulations and safety protocols, including conducting regular evaluations and audits to ensure adherence to feed quality and safety programs.
  • Managing and/or assisting resources effectively, including scheduling production, maintaining equipment, and optimizing workflow to meet production targets and minimize downtime.
  • Hire and oversee training for team members; ensuring they can perform to high safety standards while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Assure that all employees are kept informed and involved in department activities and problem solving through a regular schedule of employee meetings, salaried meetings, and participation on continuous improvement teams.
