Our roots trace back to 1896, when the Brethren in Christ Church founded Messiah Home in Harrisburg, PA, to serve older adults with Christ-like love. Who You Are The Enhanced Living (EL) Nursing Assistant (NA) is charged with providing essential support to patients and residents with daily living activities under the supervision of the nursing staff. The Nursing Assistant is tasked with delivering compassionate, hands-on care to individuals who may require assistance due to age, illness, or disability. To be successful in this role you’ll need to have knowledge of/experience in the following: Proficiency in technology and systems management- Office Suite (Microsoft), POC, databases Team Collaboration- works effectively and cooperatively with residents, families, supervisors, and interdisciplinary team members Effective and Efficient- skilled in both verbal and written communication across diverse audiences. Highly organized and detail-oriented – maintaining accuracy and focus in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions What You’ll Do Assist residents with personal hygiene when such assistance is needed Encourage and support residents to be as independent as possible in performance of activities of daily living Perform tasks related to personal hygiene and physical comfort of residents as required or requested Answer call bells timely and respond appropriately to the residents’ needs Communicate and take direction from Charge Nurse and/or Enhanced Living Director of Nursing for medical issues and medications Transfer residents from bed to chair, etc., with personnel assistance as necessary Report changes in residents' physical condition, mental status, and appetites to Charge Nurse Potential Career Growth Track- Medical Technician, Health Information Assistant, Scheduler Why You Should Choose to Work with Us We work hard to create a One Team culture of care and collaboration and ensure that team members are best equipped to lead happy, healthy, and balanced lives. Requirements
- Nursing Assistant training (preferred but not required)
- 18 years of age or older
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- MED TECH CREDS - Must have everything
- Med Tech Certification - no expiration, just need to keep observations current
- Med Tech Test Scores - no expiration, just need to keep observations current
- Med Tech observations - must have initial observations and every 6 months- after 1 year of not renewing observations, must start the whole process over
- Diabetic Certification - 1 year expiration
- Direct Care Staff Training - no expiration
- CPR/First Aid certification- every 2 years
- High School Diploma/GED/Transcripts
- Current Physical within the last year
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with personal hygiene when such assistance is needed
