About The Position
Messiah Lifeways is a non-profit organization located in Mechanicsburg, PA, that provides a network of services for adults, 55 and better living in South Central PA. Our roots trace back to 1896, when the Brethren in Christ Church founded Messiah Home in Harrisburg, PA, to serve older adults with Christ-like love. The Enhanced Living (EL) Nursing Assistant (NA) is charged with providing essential support to patients and residents with daily living activities under the supervision of the nursing staff. The Nursing Assistant is tasked with delivering compassionate, hands-on care to individuals who may require assistance due to age, illness, or disability. As the Nursing Assistant you have the potential to grow into a Med Tech after 90 days of employment and observation. Requirements
- Proficiency in technology and systems management- Office Suite (Microsoft), POC, databases
- Team Collaboration- works effectively and cooperatively with residents, families, supervisors, and interdisciplinary team members
- Effective and Efficient- skilled in both verbal and written communication across diverse audiences.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented – maintaining accuracy and focus in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions
- 18 years of age or older
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Nice To Haves
- Nursing Assistant training
- 1 Year Clerical experience in healthcare setting
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with personal hygiene when such assistance is needed
- Encourage and support residents to be as independent as possible in performance of activities of daily living
- Perform tasks related to personal hygiene and physical comfort of residents as required or requested
- Answer call bells timely and respond appropriately to the residents’ needs
- Communicate and take direction from Charge Nurse and/or Enhanced Living Director of Nursing for medical issues and medications
- Transfer residents from bed to chair, etc., with personnel assistance as necessary
- Report changes in residents' physical condition, mental status, and appetites to Charge Nurse
