About The Position

The Med Tech provides quality care and services to residents and their families. The role assists with medication administration according to residents’ care plans and physicians’ orders, and maintains related medical records under the supervision of an RN and/or LPN. The Med Tech also provides resident care in accordance with care plans and helps maintain residents’ comfort, privacy, and dignity. This is a full-time position scheduled for at least 30 hours per week, with a 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. shift. The stated hourly salary range is $22.00–$23.00. Weekend and holiday work is required.

Requirements

Successfully complete Medication Technician training and periodic competency testing.
Ability to perform medication administration in accordance with state regulations.
Strong communication skills.
Knowledge of and ability to adhere to HIPAA policies.
High school diploma or equivalent.
At least six months of experience working with seniors in Personal Care, Home Health, a Hospital, or a Long-Term Care environment.
Able to work weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

Administer and/or assist with the self-administration of prescribed medication to residents and maintain related medical records under the supervision of an RN and/or LPN.
Complete required annual medication training.
Provide resident care to ensure care needs are met according to each resident’s care plan.
Maintain medical records and written documentation with accuracy and completeness, in compliance with applicable federal and state regulations, certification standards, and legal and ethical standards.
Maintain residents’ comfort, privacy, and dignity while delivering services.
Observe and report changes in residents’ physical condition, cognition, and emotional status to a supervisor.
