OnPoint Medical Group is searching for an outstanding EMT/Medical Assistant to join our urgent care team! Come join a great group of medical professionals as our network continues to grow! OnPoint Urgent Care has 6 locations: Aurora, Highlands Ranch, Centennial, Lone Tree, Castle Pines, and Castle Rock. Requirements

  • Paramedic or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification.
  • Completion of EMT or Paramedic education program.
  • BLS certification is mandatory.
  • Knowledge of office policies and procedures, and to complete clinical responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices pertaining to paramedics/EMTs.
  • Skill in exercising a high degree of initiative, judgment, and discretion.
  • Skill in analyzing situations accurately and taking effective action.
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
  • Skill in organizing work, delegating and achieving goals and objectives.
  • Skill in exercising judgment and discretion in interpreting and implementing departmental policies and procedures.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and integrate priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve operational problems.
  • Ability to evaluate and make recommendations for continuous quality improvement.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively orally and in writing.
  • Standard office equipment including computers, fax machines, copiers, printers and telephones.
  • Basic clinical equipment such as the I-Stat and/or Piccolo, oxygen tanks, AED, EKG machine and nebulizer equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred IV Certification
  • Preferred DOT UDS and BAT Certification
  • ACLS and PALS highly recommended.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain patient’s chief complaint, vital signs, and health history prior to being seen by a provider.
  • Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records.
  • Prepare and maintain rooms, sterile instruments, equipment and supplies.
  • Ensure that supplies in patient care areas are stocked and maintained.
  • Prepare patients for, and assist with, examinations, procedures, and treatments.
  • Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
  • Maintain patient confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential in adherence with HIPAA guidelines.
  • Perform lab and point of care tests, EKGs and other functions as directed by the provider on duty.
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of the entire center, including laundry, room cleaning, break room and common areas.
  • Maintain daily quality control functions including, drug counts, lab testing and equipment.
  • Attend all staff and any other meetings required by your managers.
  • Perform patient call backs.
  • Obtain DOT urine drug screen and breath alcohol testing certification and complete comprehensive Occ Med and Workers Comp training.
  • Ability to start an IV independently and administer normal saline.
  • Ability to draw blood and perform duties relating to phlebotomy.
  • Perform PO and IM med administration.
  • Perform specialty labs such as Chem 8 in-house, and d-dimer, troponin, QuantiFERON, and stat labs referred to an outside laboratory.
  • Ability to push medications through IV
  • Manage flow of the clinical staff.
  • Communicate lab and imaging results to patients.
  • Problem solve lab errors and pharmacy inquiries.
  • Dispense inhouse prescriptions per provider order.
  • Update and maintain clinic log books and crash cart.
  • Other duties as delegated by the provider or manager.
