About The Position

This is a dual combination position for Receptionist/Med-Tech. Med-Tech duties include storing, setting up, distributing, and documenting medication service to residents in accordance with all laws and regulations. Receptionist duties include answering phones, distributing newspapers, placing breakfast orders through the E-Menu system, and monitoring camera and pendant systems.

Requirements

  • Must have experience in and demonstrate proficiency with the ability to perform job duties in a safe manner.
  • Must be proficient with communication skills, both written and oral, and must have the ability to read and write, and understand English.
  • Must be able to relate well with residents and families.
  • Responsible for storing, set up, distributing, and documenting medication service to residents in the accordance with all laws and regulations.
  • Responsible for answering the phones, distributing newspaper, placing breakfast order through E-Menu system, monitoring camera system and pendant system.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in an assisted living environment preferred.
  • Demonstrates the ability to distinguish different types of medications and uses/or is able to use resources when more information is necessary in order to assure medication is stored and distributed safely.
  • Seeks consultation form Supervisor or Pharmacy resource when appropriate.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains resident medication records in accordance with policy and regulations.
  • Assures medications are available for distribution by communicating with pharmacies, residents, and families.
  • Sets up and delivers medications to residents for self-administration on a timely and accurate basis and in accordance with resident records.
  • Makes pertinent observations regarding resident’s conditions and reports all documentation meets the regulatory requirements.
  • May assist in other areas of resident care and services as directed by the Supervisor.
  • Follows all rules, regulations, policies, and guidelines as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Performs all duties in a safe manner and participates in the safety program.
  • Reports to Med Tech on shift any resident care needs that need follow-up for the next shift.
  • Participates with training and In-Services.
  • Completes end of shift reports.
  • Answers the phones.
  • Distributes newspapers.
  • Places breakfast orders through the E-Menu system.
  • Monitors the camera system and pendant system.
