About The Position
This is a Travel Med Surg RN assignment at Piedmont Augusta in Augusta, GA. The role supports a 33-bed Medical Surgical/Remote Telemetry unit that cares for adult and geriatric patients. The unit treats a variety of conditions including diabetes, bariatrics, post-operative patients, wound vacs, renal failure, and general med/surg diagnoses. The Registered Nurse should be proficient in remote telemetry, IV starts, blood administration, PICC management, chest tubes, HFNC, wound vacs, PCA pumps, post/pre-hemodialysis care, and responding to rapid response situations. The facility provides strong interdisciplinary support from case managers, social workers, unit educators, charge nurses, and offers lift equipment.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Comfortable with remote telemetry.
- Proficient in IV starts.
- Proficient in blood administration.
- Proficient in PICC management.
- Experience with chest tubes.
- Experience with HFNC.
- Experience with wound vacs.
- Experience with PCA pumps.
- Experience with post/pre-hemodialysis care.
- Experience in rapid response situations.
Responsibilities
- Care for adult and geriatric patients on a 33-bed Medical Surgical/Remote Telemetry unit.
- Treat patients with conditions including diabetes, bariatrics, post-op, wound vacs, renal failure, and general med/surg diagnoses.
- Perform remote telemetry monitoring.
- Administer IVs and blood.
- Manage PICC lines.
- Care for patients with chest tubes.
- Administer High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC).
- Manage wound vacs.
- Operate PCA pumps.
- Provide post/pre-hemodialysis care.
- Respond to rapid response situations.
