About The Position

Primary responsibilities include providing administrative oversight and direction for the Medical/ Surgical Department. This manager will provide accountability for planning, directing, leading and evaluating nursing care within this department. Responsibilities include participation with the Swing Bed Program; this is a fundamental aspect of this position and key to the success of this organization’s swing program development, implementation and evaluation.

Requirements

• Must be a Registered Nurse
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Pediatric Advanced Cardiac Life Support (PALS) certification

Nice To Haves

• Two to three years of management and/or supervisory experience
• Medical/Surgical experience in a similar size hospital
• Knowledge of Swing Bed requirements/regulations

Responsibilities

• Providing administrative oversight and direction for the Medical/ Surgical Department.
• Planning, directing, leading and evaluating nursing care within the department.
• Participating with the Swing Bed Program, including its development, implementation, and evaluation.
• Responsible for the day-to-day staffing of the unit, including creating schedules and providing coverage for vacations and illnesses.
• May be required to fill shifts on occasion.
