About The Position

This position effectively supports production and maintains tooling and fixtures to ensure quality products. The Mechatronics Technician I will work with Engineering/Quality Control to ensure all dimensions and processes are in conformance by using precision inspection equipment to verify work and fixtures. They will perform start of shift and daily maintenance procedures on tooling fixtures and production equipment, and set-up and tear-down tools and fixtures in accordance with established procedures. This role ensures all set-ups are properly maintained for operator safety and efficient equipment operation. The technician will work with key personnel to ensure all dimensions, processes, and automation are in conformance, developing basic skills to work with automation/robots. They will analyze Problem Reports and confer with key personnel to make appropriate machine adjustments, and maintain Computer Maintenance Software (CMS) records after tasks are completed. Responsibilities include replacing dull or broken cutters, pre-staging tools while machines are operating, and maintaining an organized, clean, and safe work environment by following 6S standards. The technician must properly follow all H&M procedures and policies, use correct P.P.E. per JHA’s and Job Description, and wear safety shoes with the standard F2412 and F2413 rating. Individuals trained in NFPA 70E Arc Flash are required to wear electrical hazard safety shoes with the F2412EH and F2413EH rating. Participation in Continuous Improvement activities, including the Idea System, is expected. The role involves resetting and troubleshooting/repairing automated equipment, PLCs, Robots, and Vision Systems as needed with a continuous improvement mindset, and adjusting and programming robots for pick-up points and frames. The technician is responsible for their own work and may occasionally instruct, show, or train other employees how to perform the work, but is not normally required to direct or supervise other personnel.

Requirements

  • High School or Technical School Diploma, or General Education Degree (GED) preferred; one to four years of related experience and/or training or combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, part drawings, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; ability to write notes.
  • Ability to calculate basic math, use fractions, decimals and percent.
  • Ability to apply logical thinking and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Able to work Saturday and/or Sunday on a rotating basis to meet business needs.
