About The Position

The Mechatronics & Robotics Technician supports the Operations Maintenance Team by repairing and maintaining material handling equipment and pneumatic systems throughout the building. The role includes installing, maintaining, and repairing automated packaging and distribution equipment. It also involves preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, work-order and inventory tracking, and mentoring junior technicians.

The position is performed in a warehouse environment with fluctuating temperatures and requires travel between departments, floors, and properties, averaging 6 to 12 miles per day. The technician regularly uses a computer for 1 to 2 hours per day and must wear required personal protective equipment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of experience repairing material handling equipment or automated conveyor systems and controls.
• At least 2 years of experience conducting predictive and preventive maintenance procedures.
• At least 1 year of experience reading blueprints and electrical schematics.
• At least 1 year of knowledge of electrical and electronic principles.
• Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project, with the ability to create and manage documents.
• Ability to work flexible schedules or shifts.
• Ability to reach overhead, kneel, squat, climb steps and ladders, use an aerial lift, and frequently lift up to 50 pounds of equipment.
• Ability to perform tasks while wearing required personal protective equipment, which may include a hard hat, face mask, face shield, and composite toe shoes.
• Ability to crouch or bend and reach to install or move equipment.

Nice To Haves

• Associate degree or higher from a vocational school or college focused on a mechanical or electrical field.
• Experience with material handling equipment safety standards in accordance with OEM and safety standards.
• Experience with robotic operation and maintenance.
• Ability to troubleshoot basic input and output functions.

Responsibilities

• Promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures.
• Complete preventive maintenance routines and document the work properly.
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems involving material handling equipment, including belts, motors, photo-eyes, and relays.
• Create, assign, and close out work orders with information about labor hours, equipment maintenance, and parts used.
• Track and store department inventory.
• Mentor junior technicians.
• Maintain positive working relationships across the Operations facility.
• Install, maintain, and repair automated packaging and distribution equipment.
