About The Position
As a Mechatronics Intern, you will help develop actuator solutions for marine drive applications ranging from basic hydraulic to full electromechanical components. Participate in a fast-paced multi-disciplinary design and lab environment and bridge the gap between Electrical and Mechanical core competencies.
Requirements
- Pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, robotics engineering or closely related field
- Strong working knowledge of control systems, sensors, power electronics, brushed and brushless motors
- Data Acquisition and test design
- Strong technical background and great communication skills
- Experience participating in DFMEA based design methods
- Minimum second semester sophomore status with 48 completed credits
- Availability to work full-time (40 or more hours per week) during the the months May through August of 2027.
Nice To Haves
- Exposure to: electrohydraulic actuators or electromechanical actuators.
Responsibilities
- Process data with Matlab or Python
- Work with Engineers and Technicians to develop creative actuator solutions
- Become a resource for mechanical and electrical troubleshooting with existing and new actuator products
- Utilize and contribute to the data-based engineering community at Brunswick
- Participate in DFMEA activities for existing product improvement opportunities or new actuator products
