About The Position

Steel Dynamics is offering an Apprenticeship Program designed to equip individuals with the fundamental skills and knowledge required for maintenance roles. This program combines on-the-job training with academic instruction, leading to an Associate's degree in Mechatronics upon completion. Graduates will transition into maintenance positions, including rotating shift roles, with the pay rate of a mill technician.

Requirements

• Demonstrated mechanical or electrical aptitude.
• Safety-minded with a strong work ethic, positive attitude, eagerness to learn, self-motivated, and hardworking.
• Complete a battery of assessments.
• Provide letters of recommendation from current Steel Dynamics' supervision.
• Participate in the interview process if selected.
• Ability to commute to both Steel Dynamics and VWCC.

Responsibilities

• Combine on-the-job training and academic instruction.
• Complete classroom portion of the training over two years.
• Work alongside a designated mentor during on-the-job training days.
• Transition into a maintenance role upon graduation.
• Fill rotating shift positions.
