About The Position

INSPYR Solutions is seeking a Mechanical Test Engineer for a 6-month contract role in Northridge, CA, with potential for long-term extensions and conversion to a full-time employee. This is a 100% onsite position. The role involves developing test plans, procedures, and assembly instructions for satellite subassemblies and mechanical integration. The engineer will coordinate environmental testing, support mechanical integration and troubleshooting of aerospace hardware, create and maintain engineering documentation, and collaborate with various teams to meet project milestones.

Requirements

5+ years mechanical engineering/integration experience in aerospace or avionics.
Proven experience writing test plans, test procedures, and assembly instructions for complex aerospace hardware.
Hands-on familiarity with environmental qualification testing: thermal, vibration, shock.
Experience with GSE/MGSE (Ground Support Equipment / Mechanical GSE) — supporting design, use, or maintenance.
Solid grounding in mechanical assembly fundamentals: GD&T, torque specs, ESD procedures, tooling.
Must be a U.S. Citizen due to export control laws.

Nice To Haves

SolidWorks, Siemens NX, or Siemens Xpedition (XP).
Exposure to PLM/PDM, MRP, QMS, or configuration management tools.
AS9100 familiarity.

Responsibilities

Develop test plans, procedures, and assembly instructions for satellite subassemblies and mechanical integration.

Create and maintain engineering documentation and ensure compliance with quality standards.
