Scientific Applications & Research Associates, Inc. (SARA) is seeking a talented, motivated, and imaginative Mechanical Technician to support research and development activities in its High Power Electromagnetics Division (HPEM) in Colorado Springs, CO. This role offers the opportunity to grow and learn with experienced engineers, physicists, and technicians on long-standing and new programs. The Mechanical Technician will play a critical role in the rapid development, fabrication, and testing of mechanical and electromechanical systems. This is a hands-on position involving welding, carpentry, machining, and mechanical assembly to support prototype builds and system integration efforts. The role requires strong ownership, a sense of urgency, and the ability to execute efficiently in a dynamic R&D environment where priorities shift and timelines are tight. The ideal candidate is proactive, resourceful, and driven to see tasks through to completion with a high level of quality and accountability.
