About The Position

As a Mechanical Technician at Phillips 66, you will be responsible for performing preventative, predictive, and routine maintenance tasks, troubleshooting issues, and repairing failures of production and facilities equipment to ensure maximum efficiency and effectiveness. This role requires the successful completion of an online assessment. The Phillips 66 Midstream business, where this role is situated, is a safe, reliable, and trusted provider for the movement, storage, gathering, and processing of liquid or gas energy via pipelines or terminals. It is an industry leader in logistics, operating or managing more than 70,000 miles of pipelines that transport crude oil from oil fields to refineries and finished products from refineries to storage terminals. The business also operates 39 terminals that supply finished products to consumer gas stations, as well as crude oil and NGL storage terminals and NGL fractionation facilities. Its capabilities include extensive natural gas gathering and processing operations, enhancing the wellhead-to-market strategy, and providing connectivity between various Phillips 66 business units.

Requirements

  • Must maintain a valid driver's license
  • Currently live, or willing to relocate, within 45 miles of the reporting location
  • Willing and able perform/comply, with or without a reasonable accommodation, with the following: Climb various ladders and stairs ranging 5 to 20 feet in height on platforms and catwalks to perform maintenance on equipment as part of this position
  • Raise and transport articles weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Occasionally exerts pulling force of 130 pounds
  • Walk, stand, stoop, sit, climb, and carry material on a daily basis on even and uneven terrain
  • Work outside in harsh weather conditions
  • Work alone a high percentage of the time
  • Work scheduled or unscheduled overtime on an as-needed basis
  • Wear fire-retardant clothing and other personal protective equipment, such as steel-toe shoes and ear and eye protection
  • Willing and able to work a rotating call-out schedule

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s Degree in Diesel Technology, Industrial Maintenance, or related field
  • 1 or more years maintenance/mechanical experience in oil and gas or related industry
  • 1 or more years direct experience with reading schematics, manuals and drawings
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office: Outlook, Excel, Word, and available maintenance programs
  • A sound knowledge of code requirements, including OSHA, Process Safety

Responsibilities

  • Performing maintenance and repairs on engines, compressors and associated components, such as compressor valves, spark plugs, cooling and lubrication systems (auxiliary).
  • Performs overhaul of compressors and engines\engine swings, including foundation work, initial alignment, testing, and startup.
  • Ensuring the safe, effective and efficient performance of maintenance and operation activities in accordance with Company standards and regulatory guidelines
  • Complying with company policies, procedures and directives
  • Performing work on air pollution control equipment
  • Performing required preventive and corrective maintenance on various types of equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations
  • Identifying maintenance work and initiating work requests
  • Driving a company owned vehicle within assigned area
  • Ability to diagnose mechanical problems
  • Ability to provides Quality Assurance\Quality Control over 3rd Party contractors performing major maintenance.
  • Maintain all required operations and safety training including required Operator Qualifications for DOT covered tasks.
