About The Position

Responsible for assisting in the fabrication of various components and/or whole parts to support the production and manufacturing of specialized water treatment equipment and associated systems. This position requires forklift operation, scissor lifts, drill presses, belt sanders, band saws, bench grinders and ironworkers. Assists in fabricating and manufacturing various components of specialized equipment used in industrial water treatment applications Proper and safe use of drill presses, belt sanders, band saws, bench grinders, ironworkers, and other specialized equipment to fabricate parts and water treatment systems. Pipe-fit various materials such as PVC, CPVC, fiberglass, and stainless steel. Practice good safety procedures in order to keep self and others injury free . Follow good housekeeping practices by keeping fabrication and tool storage area neat and clean as well as timely cleanup of work area after each job is completed , Perform confined space entry in small tanks with 14x18” manways. Maintain records and reports as required.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
  • Work as a member of a team and independently.
  • Basic mathematics skills.
  • Ability to assemble PVC and fabricated metal piping spools per applicable quality and EHS standards.
  • Ability to work from engineering drawings and understand engineering and quality specifications.
  • Ability to participate as key member of an assembly team.
  • Ability to operate power tools such as drills, grinders, and saws.
  • Some unassisted lifting up to 50 lbs. is required – nearly all heavy parts movement assisted with cranes/hoists and pallet jacks.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in mechanical trades such as auto repair, HVAC, plumbing, etc.
  • Trade school certificate in mechanical trade.
  • Desire to advance to higher level mechanical technician roles

Responsibilities

  • Follows all EHS rules and produces quality work.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the assembly of PVC and fabricated metal piping spools in strict accordance with established quality and Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) standards.
  • Demonstrates the proficiency to interpret complex engineering drawings and adhere to rigorous engineering and quality specifications.
  • Reads and understands shop orders and bill of materials.
  • Assembles water treatment equipment from drawings as a member of a team.
  • Perform confined space entry in small tanks with 14x18” manways.
  • Maintain records and reports as required.
