Based in our Sidney, OH location, you will work in conjunction with product engineers to design, develop, and qualify compressors for HVACR systems. To maintain our role as a global leader of compression solutions we continually seek talented and ambitious technicians to work in our engineering laboratories. We are seeking a 1st shift AC laboratory technician to contribute to our growth and continued innovation.

Requirements

• Associates degree or two to three (2-3) years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Must have basic HVAC/R, mechanical, and electrical skills
• Must have troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Must have personal computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office programs
• Legal Authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this role.

Responsibilities

• Set up and install compressors and support compressor electronics for test purposes.
• Operate laboratory test equipment including gas cycle stands, calorimeters, durability life test stands, data acquisition systems, and other measuring equipment used to acquire compressor performance characteristics.
• Follow engineering laboratory test instructions to test developmental compressors and/or Air Conditioning compressors, which may include compressor assembly.
• Fabricate supporting test fixtures and controls required for non-standard tests or builds.
• Review test data for compliance with applicable test data standards.
• You will be responsible for completing required tests or builds and communicating test results with engineers.
• You will provide input on optimizing work processes to improve the overall efficiency of the lab
• Perform various tasks related to the upkeep of the lab.
