About The Position

Trashology is seeking a well-rounded Mechanical Technician who shares our entrepreneurial energy to support the team’s efforts in developing waste to energy commercial products. In your role, your duties and responsibility will include producing, integrating, testing, troubleshooting, modifying and repairing equipment, including but not limited to mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, moving machinery and powered equipment to ensure proper fit and function. You will also provide input during mechanical design and fabrication projects, communicate with the team by summarizing key status updates, report any issues and provide recommendations for improvement. Additionally, you will support testing of product operation including recording data, taking samples of process material and inspect equipment for any mechanical issues. You will be responsible for ordering and maintaining inventory for parts, chemicals, tools, and equipment as necessary to support product development, and certification of efforts. You will also comply with safety regulations, maintain clean and orderly work areas and equipment, and detect and report faulty operations, defective material, and any unusual situations to proper supervision. Other duties as necessary.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, or equivalent and previous experience in a Mechanical Technician role with troubleshooting and repair experience.
  • High mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • General understanding of stress and strain principles on different materials.
  • Basic understanding of wire diagrams.
  • General knowledge of sensors and instrumentation devices.
  • General understanding of motors.
  • Basic understanding of hydraulic systems.
  • General knowledge of common material properties.
  • General knowledge of fabrication techniques with common hand power tools.
  • General understanding of pneumatic, hydraulic, electric, and power transmission.

Responsibilities
