Continental is a leading tire manufacturer and industry specialist that develops and produces sustainable, safe and convenient solutions for automotive manufacturers as well as industrial and end customers worldwide. The Mechanical Technician will troubleshoot and make quality repairs to mechanical, steam, hydraulic and pneumatic power transmission and drive systems. This role involves removing, replacing, and bleeding air from fluid on hydraulic systems, as well as removing and replacing lubricant from mechanical systems. The technician will also troubleshoot and repair piping systems, diagnose problems using various schematics and measurement devices, and perform sheet metal work for equipment repair. Communication with maintenance, engineering, and production personnel is key, along with strict adherence to safety procedures like LOTO and wearing proper PPE. Compliance with all plant, corporate, Continental, safety, Illinois, and government codes, standards, and policies is required. The role may also involve vacancy coverage and overtime as needed, and maintaining a clean, organized workspace.
